The game/ A complaint
I recently bought a new place...hopefully w/ any luck it will be my "forever" place. Anyways, there should be a law against getting official looking papers that are really bogus in the mail. I just wanted to record this one for its idiocy.
The designation of homestead under the TEXAS PROPERTY CODE is distinct from the homestead tax exemption under the TEXAS TAX CODE. If a homeowner files for and receive a TAX EXEMPTION, they will receive a Designation of Homestead eventually for free. For information regarding the homestead tax exemption contact your tax appraisal district. For information regarding homestead designation under the TEXAS PROPERTY CODE, contact your attorney.
Homestead property is protected under Texas law. Recording a "Designation of Homestead" in the public records is optional. To file a designation of homestead, you are not required to use this form or service. Prices subject to change without notice.
YOU MUST REMIT THE $35.00 FEE OR WE WILL NOT PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENT.
This is an advertisement. (No shit.)

Dear San Antonio Spurs,
I made a bet w/ the person that drives me home that ya'll would pull it out in 7 games, the least ya'll can do is make it close. Things are getting a little testy on the ride,,he was talking smack ALL the way home.
"I would like to change my prediction...I am nothing if not a fair weather fan"
"No, you must stick w/ your original prediction. What are you going to give me if you lose?
"What am I going to give you??? What do you want?"
"I don't know."
"If you can't figure it out then you aren't getting anything."
So Spurs help a sister out and let's play w/ confidence on Wednesday instead of looking so deflated I had to turn it off in embarrassment. OK, thanks.

Blogging about the Mavs
NY Times
The NY Times had a story on co-ed college dorm restrooms, how that is becoming more prevalent across the country. Gross. Is nothing sacred? Would I really want the opposite sex to know how gassy I am? Can we leave the surprise inside a surprise? When I was in college, one of my friends in a public dorm was issued keys for her restroom b/c guys kept getting in there and hiding out. I guess they don't have to worry about keys anymore.
They also had a story about how at the University of Pennsylvania admission officials forward the names of any admitted students who indicate in their essay that they are gay to the university's G/L/TG support organization. Thats crazy! What if you don't want people to know? It doesn't sound like there is a presumption of privacy. If you have mental issues or other type of issue that has negative connotations and you express that in a college essay, are they going to forward your name to some campus group that deals w/ it? I think that goes too far.
Both issues involve privacy vs. demystification

and I started laughing. Nothing can get me laughing like sarcastic bs.
And it gets better...Goldman Sachs is being accused by the SEC of fraud. I bought some GS stock (a very small amount) but (drumroll please)...
I sold it last year...dodged that bullet.

To the butt twerp who interrupts my lunch
I go outside to the courtyard to enjoy a blissfully quiet lunch and hear the birds chirp. Its the only quiet part of my day. However...
when you play that damn heavy metal music (Pantera, anyone?) on your iphone and I am sitting 20 feet away and can hear it... it is way loud, too loud. Please
make it stop, I do not want to listen to your shit. I want to listen to quiet.
May someone make you listen to classical music for an extended period of time.
Regards (but not really)
S.
Tax Day Breakups
Mel Gibson broke up w/ his baby's mama.
Larry King broke up w/ his wife, who accuses him of screwing her sister. (?)
Even the lesbians are breaking up...Melissa Ethridge just broke up w/ Tammy whats her name (for a lesbian, shes hot Tammy, not Melissa).
Stress, stress, stress...

Another Complaint
But then, luckily, he and his friends got off on the West End station so I avoided being plummeted.
*Its not like I am a rhyming genius, I was sitting at dinner thinking 'What rhymes w/ ark?' It took me a few minutes. Sad.

Masonic Temple in Manhattan
Because the Masonic Temple Building in New York City is a private place I had an internal debate as to whether I should publish pictures of it. I decided to publish a picture of this, the public reception area and some architectural details, along w/ pictures of the ceilings.
The reception area is where we waited for the tour to begin.
