Look...maybe you were blinded by the shiny white hotness of Dirk the other night, if so I understand.(sort of...I mean you are pro basketball players...isn't your job to win basketball games?)

I made a bet w/ the person that drives me home that ya'll would pull it out in 7 games, the least ya'll can do is make it close. Things are getting a little testy on the ride,,he was talking smack ALL the way home.

"No, you must stick w/ your original prediction. What are you going to give me if you lose?

So Spurs help a sister out and let's play w/ confidence on Wednesday instead of looking so deflated I had to turn it off in embarrassment. OK, thanks.

Blogging about the Mavs

Dirk looks especially hot tonight. Love the new haircut. I guaranteed someone that Dirk was going to get slapped around so much that he was going to think he was somebody's daddy. I didn't know the Mavs were the higher ranked team. San Antonio is ahead though, I might win my bet yet.

NY Times

The NY Times had a story on co-ed college dorm restrooms, how that is becoming more prevalent across the country. Gross. Is nothing sacred? Would I really want the opposite sex to know how gassy I am? Can we leave the surprise inside a surprise? When I was in college, one of my friends in a public dorm was issued keys for her restroom b/c guys kept getting in there and hiding out. I guess they don't have to worry about keys anymore.
They also had a story about how at the University of Pennsylvania admission officials forward the names of any admitted students who indicate in their essay that they are gay to the university's G/L/TG support organization. Thats crazy! What if you don't want people to know? It doesn't sound like there is a presumption of privacy. If you have mental issues or other type of issue that has negative connotations and you express that in a college essay, are they going to forward your name to some campus group that deals w/ it? I think that goes too far.

I go outside to the courtyard to enjoy a blissfully quiet lunch and hear the birds chirp. Its the only quiet part of my day. However...

when you play that damn heavy metal music (Pantera, anyone?) on your iphone and I am sitting 20 feet away and can hear it... it is way loud, too loud. Please

make it stop, I do not want to listen to your shit. I want to listen to quiet.
May someone make you listen to classical music for an extended period of time.

Another Complaint

What is it w/ rappers that suck? I had a volunteer opportunity in Dallas and so I went over there and rented a hotel room. I got on the DART train at the convention center stop to go to dinner and sitting right behind me was a guy rapping in my ear full tilt. I enjoyed for a few seconds till I realized...he sucked! And it became noise. I wanted to turn around and say " Dude, 'ark' does not rhyme w/ 'ark'...it's the same damn word! Dark or stark maybe...* Are you going to rap the whole time I am on here?"
But then, luckily, he and his friends got off on the West End station so I avoided being plummeted.

*Its not like I am a rhyming genius, I was sitting at dinner thinking 'What rhymes w/ ark?' It took me a few minutes. Sad.

WTF?

A few years ago I bought like a clothes hamper from a high end children's furniture catalog...I thought it would go w/ my stuff. My information must have been sold b/c now I get children's clothing catalogs in the mail all the time. Tonight I got called "Chasing Fireflies"...Awww. The clothing costs more than my clothes! There is a denim dress...a denim dress that costs $94! Crazy...In other related news, I also get athletic apparel catalogs sent to me, I am not athletic.

The first blogroll, blondejustice, writes about law in a funny, personal and clear way. In my current position I need to laugh alot and her blog helps in that regard. The second blog, laidoff lawyer, I just wonder if he will pay off his debt in a year.

Masonic Temple in Manhattan

Because the Masonic Temple Building in New York City is a private place I had an internal debate as to whether I should publish pictures of it. I decided to publish a picture of this, the public reception area and some architectural details, along w/ pictures of the ceilings.
